Catechists are the heart of our parish’s mission to pass on the Catholic faith. At St. Arnold Janssen Parish, Komarock, catechists are dedicated volunteers who teach, guide, and accompany children, youth, and adults on their journey of faith — from baptism preparation to First Holy Communion, Confirmation, and ongoing faith formation.
Catechists are practicing Catholics who love their faith and feel called to share it with others. They are not just teachers of doctrine, but witnesses to the love of Christ. Through their words and example, catechists help others grow in understanding, prayer, and relationship with God. They play a key role in forming disciples and building a vibrant, faith-filled community.
Formation and Support
At St. Arnold Janssen Parish, we ensure our catechists are well-formed and supported. Through ongoing training, workshops, spiritual formation, and prayer gatherings, we help our catechists grow in both knowledge and spiritual maturity. We also provide teaching materials, planning assistance, and opportunities for fellowship with fellow catechists.
Catechists don’t need to have all the answers — they just need a willing heart and a desire to walk with others in faith. God does the rest.
